RUSHCREEK ARABIANS
  LISCO, NEBRASKA
About The Ranch

The Rush Creek Land and Livestock Co. has been using full blood Arabians on the cattle ranch for over fifty years. The ranch bread and raised all their own horses. In 2006 the ranch started letting the cowboys furnish their own horses but are still breeding and raising the full blood Arabians. All the horses that are raised at the ranch are now for sale, we have horses of all ages and at different levels of training.
We sell most of our horses for endurance horses. The Rushcreek horses have proven themselves in the endurance world, with horses such as Rushcreek Lad who has over 21000 life time miles and was inducted into the AERC hall of fame, and Rushcreek Mark+/  having 7875 recorded life time miles and also inducted into the AERC hall of fame. There has been over 200 Rushcreek horses in endurance over the past years with over 200,000 mile overall.

If you have a Rushcreek horse or have had a Rushcreek horse I would enjoy hearing about them and would like all the pictures I can get of them.

THANK YOU to all of you that have made our horses what they are today.

August 4th, 2009.  We got a treat today, the winner of the Tevis Cup K-Zar Emmanuel, rider Sara Engsbert and owner Allison Bailey accompanied by her son and Susan Kasemeyer stopped to spend the night at the ranch.  Wow what a privilage to get to see them again (they stopped on their way out to the Tevis) and visit with them about the ride.  We also had two other riders stop and spend the night.  It is so awesome being able to meet all these people and spend time with them.  Congrats to those who completed and a pat on the back to all that started the ride.

Great news.
Rushcreek Nerf and Laura Hayes competed in the Tevis on August 1st, and came in 25th.  We are so proud of both of them.  Laura called after the race and said that the farther they went the stronger Nerf got. We can't wait for them to get back to Lisco so we can get a step by step report from Laura.

The Shamrock was great!!!   Nerf and Lyle completed the ride on Friday with Lyle getting first heavy weight and Nerf getting best condition.  On Sunday they started the ride but while going down a hill and Nerf ended up with a cut on the top of his back feet.  Lyle didn't want to take any chances and pulled himself.  Better safe than sorry as the plan was to send Nerf to the Tevis with Laura Hayes.

4th of July weekend we will be headed to Wyoming so Lyle and "Nerf" can participate in the Shamrock Ride.  We have been there in the past and during those times Lyle road the 25 but this year he is planning on riding at least 2 of the 50s.  Each year we have gone we have had a wonderful time and plan agian to enjoy the people and the landscape.  Hope to see you there.

On June 19th we headed to Colorado again so Lyle could ride the 50 at the Mountain Mettle Endurance Ride.  Lyle and Rushcreek Nerf came in second.  He said the trail was beautiful and in spots it seemed as if you could see forever.  Base camp and the out check were great.  They had plenty of water for both horse and rider and had goodies for the horses if you needed them.  We had a wonderful time and enjoyed seeing familiar faces and meeting new.  A BIG thank you to Sue, Linda and all the helpers we are looking forward to next years ride.

We had our first colt May 3.  He is out of Rushcreek Quippy and HV Suns Heaven and Earth.
